The Lighthouse

We have been constantly looking for projects that also focus on educational promotion. A few weeks ago, we heard of the Lighthouse in Battambang.
The Lighthouse is a student dormitory which provides affordable accommodation to underprivileged Cambodian youth from rural areas, who want to attend a secondary school or university in Battambang. At the moment, 13 people live in the Lighthouse, among them also the founder Lukas Bernhardt his wife Somaly and their 4-months-old daughter Nica.

Lukas founded the Lighthouse in May 2008. Before he first came to Cambodia in 2007, he has been working in several youth projects in Switzerland for over 10 years.
